CONCERTINO - WIEN

“An ode to chamber music”

Since 2009 the Vienna Concertino has been bringing together the elite of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and distilling it to its purest form, a form closely tied to ancient Viennese musical tradition.

The first such ensemble consisted of a string group in a 6-4-3-3-1 line - up accompanied by varying wind sections, and this simple group of musicians, formed so as to elevate chamber music to a previously unrealised level, quickly became synonymous with performances of the highest calibre. This style of music was composed with royal chambers in mind, and these remain the perfect auditoriums for it.

The Vienna Concertino represents much more than a mere journey through history. It brings to life grandeur, intimacy and high culture, and the works of both established and contemporary composers are performed to an unprecedented level. This being the case, you’re unlikely to hear a more authentic Viennese waltz elsewhere.

Moreover, a measured degree of the oft -discussed Viennese sense of humour indicates a genuine ode to Viennese classical music, the climaxes of which the Vienna Concertino plays with unparalleled joy. This pleasure they take in music is something the ensemble would like to share with a global audience.

The stunning opening concert of the "Ensembles der Wiener Symphoniker / Ensembles from the Vienna Symphony Orchestra" in Vienna – October 2011, series quickly established the Vienna Concertino's primacy.

Conducted by Dimitri Kitajenko, the ensemble managed to capture the public's imagination and thus grow in popularity rapidly. The signing of renowned piano player Carlo Grante ensured that the performances constituted a celebration of music at a genuinely world class level and the public responded with standing ovations and a noisy clamour for another series of concerts.

In 2014 Vienna Concertino chamber orchestra created a new concert cycle in Konzerthaus Vienna – Tea Time Concerts, always at 5pm. Through this combination „High Tee – High concerts“ Vienna Concertino presents his auditory an extraordinary musically and culinary event. Even now this cycle became already a big success and establishes again the Vienna Concertino's primacy. For more information please see http://concertino-wien.at/concerts/all

Their prowess and resultant popularity will allow the Vienna Concertino chamber orchestra to connect talented young musicians to the preservation of high culture. The ensemble is developing purposefully and with considerable ambition, and by demonstrating the application of acquired craft and artistic expression, it can smooth the career paths of future musical generations.
