Martin Klimek – 1st Violin


Received his first violin lessons in Vienna at the age of 6, subsequently attended the Krems/Donau music school.
In 1985/6 he was taught by Erich Schagerl (member of the Vienna Philharmonic).
From 1986 he studied at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien under Professor Werner Hink (Concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic).
In 1988 he graduated from Piaristen High School, Krems.
Prize winner at “Jugend musiziert”.
Involvement with the Wiener Jeuensse Orchester.
Participation in various orchestra and chamber music seminars,including one at the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan.
Since 1992 a regular understudy for the Vienna Philharmonic and in the Wiener Staatsoper’s orchestras.
From 1994-1998 Martin was a member of the Vienna Symphony.
In 1997 he received his diploma, passing with distinction.
From 1998 a member of the Wiener Staatsoper’s orchestra.
Since 2001 a member of the Vienna Philharmonic.

Libor Meisl- violin


Libor Meisl was born in Hodonin, Südmähren and had already begun to play the violin by the age of five.
After successfully completing his studies in the violin at the Brünner Konservatorium under Rudolf Štastný, he enrolled in Jindřich Pazdera’s class at the Prague Music Academy and finished his studies in 2001, passing with distinction.
After that he won a foreign scholarship to the Wiener Musikuniversität where he studied under Edward Zienkowski and then concluded his training under Milan Vitek, Pinchas Zuckermann and Viktor Tretjakow. Libor Meisl is a winner of international competitions (Ústí nad Orlicí, Hradec nad Moravicí, Semmering) and won 1st prize in the Prague and Brno violin competitions.

From 2001-2002 Libor Meisl was 1st concertmaster of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra in Prague, and between 2003 and 2007 he was the 1st leader of 1st violins in the Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich. Since 2007 he has been leader of second violins in the Vienna Symphony.

Wolfgang Prochaska – viola


Born in 1968 in Vienna.
At the age he received his first violin lessons from Professor H. Lechner at the Musikschule Wien IX.
From 1978 violin he studied under Professors Biedermann and Georg Mark at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien.
1986 – graduation from BRG IX, Vienna
1987 – first viola lessons at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien from Professor Herwig Zelle.
Further studies under Professor Herbert Kefer (Musikhochschule Graz/Expositur Oberschützen) and Professor Hans Peter Ochsenhofer (Universität für Musik, Vienna).
Master classes from Thomas Riebl in Salzburg and Prussia Cove (England).
Many chamber music and solo performances, both at home and abroad.
A member of the Wiener Symphoniker since 1996.
In October 2000 he founded an association, “Das Bratschenforum”, of which he is chairman.

Benedikt Endelweber – violoncello


Born in 1973 in St. Pölten.
First cello lessons from Franz Lehner at the Krems/Donau music school .
1991 – high school graduation from Piaristengymnasium Krems.
1992-1999 – viloncello studies at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien under Profesoor Josef Luitz.
1999 – passed his diploma exams with distinction.
1999-2000 – completed his studies under Robert Nagy at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien.
In the Spring of 2000 Benedikt started studying under Professor Wolfgang Herzer at the Universität für Musik, Wien.
Master classes and private lessons from Michael Hell, Raphael Flieder and Franz Bartolomey.
Long-term member of the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester.
1995 – a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester under Claudio Abbado and Bernard Haitink.
Since 1996 he has performed extensively as an understudy for the Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich, the Wiener Volksoper, the Wiener Staatsoper and the Vienna Philharmonic.
